Foundation Fellows: Empowering the Next Generation of Change-Makers in Puerto Rico
Foundation for Puerto Rico is looking for students interested in engaging in social and economic development research across a variety of disciplines. Through this initiative, the organization aims to bridge academic knowledge with real-world application, fostering collaboration that advances Puerto Rico’s economic development while cultivating the next generation of skilled professionals.
The Foundation Fellows Program is a transformative learning experience designed for young talent ready to bridge academia and real-world impact. Rooted in mentorship, leadership, and purpose, the program offers hands-on opportunities where growth emerges from movement across roles, opportunities, and perspectives. Fellows are intentionally placed in dynamic environments that challenge comfort zones, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and build resilience.
This approach transforms not only skills but identity, preparing Fellows to become strategic catalysts capable of leading complex, interconnected initiatives in the real world by gaining practical experience addressing challenges central to Puerto Rico’s socioeconomic transformation.
Program Architecture:
Each Fellow will participate in a rotational circuit for interdisciplinary exposure, gaining experience through a structured yet fluid learning journey.
Multiplicity of Mentors: Fellows are paired with specialized mentors who provide strategic guidance, personalized feedback, and support cross-pillar rotations, fostering adaptability and leadership.
Learning Labs as Communities of Practice: Labs offer applied learning, simulations, and case studies, linking theory to practice and reinforcing leadership, resilience, and innovation.
Rotational Circuit Structure: Fellows start in a primary strategic area and later rotate into complementary pillars, broadening perspectives and preparing them to lead complex, interconnected initiatives.
Immersion Projects: High-impact assignments aligned with FPR’s mission, enabling fellows to act as knowledge brokers and translate insights into actionable strategies for Puerto Rico’s socioeconomic transformation.
